Veterans Assistance and Resources

The Office of the Attorney General is dedicated to serving Virginians who have served our country. We hope that this page will provide tools for veterans and their families to help them understand their rights, and provide resources for all the veteran-related needs.
Ensuring that all veterans have the opportunity to become and remain gainfully employed in Virginia is a top priority of Attorney General Cuccinelli. To assist with this goal, the attorney general has established training opportunities for state agencies, localities and businesses related to the federal Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), as well as training on Virginia Code Title 44 as it relates to employment and reemployment rights.
Attorney General Cuccinelli has appointed Cindy Norwood, Senior Assistant Attorney General, to provide this training. Norwood is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps with the 80th Training Command Army Reserve, and is a trained ombudsman with the Department of Defense’s Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. If you are interested in receiving this training, or interested in providing this training to your employees, please contact Cindy Norwood at veterans@oag.state.va.us.
